Me, like the Beatles?
Music today is at an all time low. No, I don't just mean lyric content-wise. Rather, lyric non-content. I swear, if I hear one more song that has 10 words of "creativity" and 4 minutes of chorus I'm going to slap people.
It wasn't until last night (while listening to a Beatles marathon) that I really appreciated how past artists never crossed the golden rule, Never Make a Song Over 3 Minutes. In under 3 min, people would have enough entertaining lyrics to keep the tune in your head and enough chorus to glue it together.
I swear, I heard like 8 or 9 songs in 10 minutes. Each one had my attention and none were repetitive.
The Spinners and Jackie Wilson really held to this rule. Jackie so much, I challenge someone to find a song of his that lasts 2:30.
So, yes I do like the Beatles if only for the fact they haven't done Ashanti's Foolish to me.
