Message center job advertisements
Anyone with a digital cable set top box is likely familiar with the red LED that periodically lights. It's the good ole "message waiting" indicator letting me know my provider, Charter, has something to tell me.
Well, guess what, it was lit the other day with a message from none other than Charter. And what did Charter have to tell me this time? That they were having a job fair at their corporate office in a few days. There have been previous messages like that in the past.
So, I've been wondering, is Charter's sending of these advertisement messages a helpful way to share career opportunities or a tacky way to misuse their system? I guess that depends on which side of the employment line you are on. But, I wonder how well that will go over if my job sent out mass voicemail messages to our customers to let them know about job openings?
